Storybook Trail

Within our second year of program, we made the storybook trail. The story that we wrote and illustrated has been out for a year and we chose to take this as an opportunity to write a new story to go along with our new project. We chose to keep most of the same characters from last year and introduced a few new characters to the story. This new story will teach children about food insecurity and food pantries to correspond with our Free Pantry project. Our story has been translated into both English and Spanish in order to reach a more broad audience.

In June of 2021, we held an unveiling of our new story at Billion Legion Park, with help from our friends at the Bound Brook Library. We had a guest author read her stories and offered lots of fun activities. We were honored to be joined by four of the Somerset County commissioners and the mayor of Bound Brook.
